Nairn Dunbar Golf Club – Situated behind the rugged sand dunes of Nairn’s East Beach, Nairn Dunbar Golf Links offers an unrivalled experience for golfers of all levels. With views across the Moray Firth to the Black Isle and beyond to the mountains of Sutherland as well as inland to the neighbouring Cawdor Hills, the course is a treat for the senses. Measuring over 6800 yards off the medal tees, it requires both guile and skill to negotiate its hugely varied challenges presented from first tee to final green
Nairn Golf Club – Championship seaside links founded in 1887 and created from a wilderness of heather. Opening holes stretch out along the shoreline with the turn for home at the tenth. Was host to the 2012 Curtis Cup.The Nairn Golf Club’s truly remarkable feature is that from every hole you can see the Moray Firth and the golden colouring and changing lights of the Black Isle. Even more extraordinary – only too easily you can strike the ball into the sea on every one of the first seven!
Castle Stuart – A championship links course overlooking the Moray Firth and well-known landmarks that are synonymous with Inverness and the Black Isle – Kessock Bridge and Chanonry Lighthouse perhaps the most notable. It is also now the new home of The Scottish Open, hosting the competition in 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2016.
Carnoustie – Burnside Links – The Burnside is often overshadowed by its illustrious neighbour but it oozes character and from the back tees is a splendid test of golf. Many of the short holes would compare with any Championship Course anywhere with the 5th and 14th in particular providing dramatic challenges for the player who strives to gain his par 3. The finish is also strong with the 17th proving to be one of the hardest par 4’s that can be found anywhere in golf and many a score has been ruined by the out of bounds fence at the 18th. It was here in 1953 where the great Ben Hogan shot 70 to help him qualify for the Open Championship which he subsequently won.
Carnoustie – Championship Links – The course developed from origins in the 1560s; James Braid added new bunkers, greens and tees in the 1920s. Carnoustie Golf Links has hosted the British Open seven times, last in 2007.
